From a federal judge, that’s an order, soldier: stop enforcing “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.”
According to CNN, Judge Virginia Phillips ordered the military to stop enforcing the ban on gays and lesbians serving in the military. The ruling came down Oct. 12
This isn’t the first time that judge has ruled against DADT – previously, she decided the policy violates soldiers’ Fifth Amendment rights but held off on the injunction.
The ruling stems from a lawsuit by the Log Cabin Republicans and there will likely be an appeal to the Department of Justice.
