About fifty people turned up to talk about Outrage, a documentary that outs allegedly gay politicians who benefit from anti-gay policies. The film screened at the Enzian Theater in Maitland last month, and the discussion was held at the Eden Bar, which is attached to the theater, on June 25.
Henry Maldonado, retired vice president and general manager of the CBS affiliate WKMG Local 6, moderated the discussion. The panel included Orlando City Council member Patty Sheehan; Scott Maxwell, political staff writer for the Orlando Sentinel; Eric Breitenbach, critically acclaimed Central Florida documentary filmmaker; and Patrick Howell, director of Central Florida Log Cabin Republicans.
The discussion touched on ethical questions, such as whether journalists had the right to out public figures, and they talked about the difference between outing someone and exposing hypocrisy.
