After taking a year off, one of the LGBT community’s largest social event and fundraiser will return in 2010. The 11th Annual Bowling in Boxers event is slated for Sunday, April 18, at 7 p.m. at the AMF Gulf Gate Lanes, with returning hostess and emcee David “Scarbie” Mitchell.
Mitchell, who created “Scarbie” and performs as popular characters created by Lily Tomlin and Carol Burnett, will entertain throughout the night and host the annual Mr. and Ms. Boxers contest. Contestants can sport festive boxers and enter to win several different donated prizes.
Bowling will be “No Tap” scoring with colored pin prizes and 50/50 drawing. A cash bar and food will be available throughout the night.
Admission is still only $15 and this year’s proceeds benefit Diversity: The Voices of Sarasota’s trip to Carnegie Hall to participate in the Pink Ribbon’s “Singing for the Cure” this summer, and ALSO Out Youth.
