The City Beautiful is named 4th gayest in America

Orl4GayCityAbstr_136393012.jpgOrlando secured the #4 spot in The Advocate’s second annual list of the top 15 Gayest Cities in America. The publication described Orlando as “a hot spot for gay and lesbian life and a hotbed of progressive attitudes,” citing the Orange County Commission’s decision in November to add sexual orientation protections to an existing anti-discrimination law and calling the annual Fringe Festival “one of the gayest in the country.”

The only other Florida city to make the last was Miami, at the #15 spot. Minneapolis was #1.

Orlando did not make the 2010 list last year, but two other Florida cities did: Gainesville and Ft. Lauderdale.
