Orlando – The GLBT Center of Central Florida is facing a small speed bump in the road to their renovations, but the project is still on schedule.
At an Orlando City Commission meeting Nov. 18, the Commissioners were scheduled to sign off on the final contract for the renovation, according to The Center’s executive director, Terry DeCarlo.
Instead, the Commission requested a last-minute adjustment before the paper work could be officially processed.
“They went over the budget we put in, they wanted a line item moved, a new form and the reworking of numbers. We reworked it. It was approved and put back through,” Terry DeCarlo, executive director of the Center, said.
While the later date of contractual signing pushes back the paperwork process it will not have an effect on the renovations of the Center and the construction timeline. The final walkthrough with the architect is set for Nov. 20 and, according to DeCarlo, all of the previous renovations are still on track to be completed by March of 2015.
“Everything is still on schedule. We’re still forging ahead. The plans are still being finished,” DeCarlo said.
The Orlando City Commission contract signing is now set for Dec. 8.
