The first official trailer for the gay conversion therapy drama “The Miseducation of Cameron Post” has been released.
The film, adapted from the novel of the same name by Emily M. Danforth, tells the story of Cameron (Chloë Grace Moretz) who is sent away to God’s Promise, a gay conversion therapy camp because she is attracted to girls.
While at camp, she befriends fellow campers “Jane Fonda” (Sasha Lane) and Adam (Forrest Goodluck).
“You don’t really seem like the kind of person who would be here,” Cameron tells Jane.
“I didn’t have a choice. Did you?” Jane replies.
Desiree Akhavan, known for her debut film “Appropriate Behavior,” directs.
“The Miseducation of Cameron Post” opens in theaters on August 3.
