LGBTQ+ organizations across Central Florida are holding an online discussion series to address local LGBTQ+ issues.
Orlando Strong Symposium 2020 has been described as “the most important conversation of the year” and is being hosted by Contigo Fund, LGBT+ Center Orlando – The Center, The Bros in Convo Initiative, QLatinx and One Orlando Alliance.
The symposium aims to raise awareness and inspire action surrounding topical issues affecting LGBTQ+ individuals living in the Central Florida area.
“[This event] will tackle the issues facing the Central Florida LGBTQ+ Community as we recover from COVID-19 and fight for all of our communities,” the Facebook event page for Orlando Strong Symposium states.
Discussions that will that take place as part of the event series include “Conversations with Law Enforcement” (June 23), “Corporate Giving and Small Businesses to LGBTQ+ Recovery and Empowerment” (June 25) and “Black Trans Women: Trusting and Supporting our Leadership” (June 30).
Orlando Strong Symposium 2020 begins on June 23 and will be held across three additional days – June 24, June 25 and June 30. Registration for the event is free and can be done by visiting the Orlando Strong Symposium Facebook page and clicking on the “Find Tickets” button.
