For three years now I have been acting-editor for Watermark. Today that era comes to an end. I am happy to announce that Central Florida Bureau Chief Jeremy Williams will take the reigns as Watermark’s editor-in-chief.
While I will still be publisher, Jeremy will be charged with defining our voice as we continue to tell the stories of your voices, and I couldn’t be more confident in him as he takes on this role.
Jeremy began working for Watermark as a Central Florida sales account manager in 2013. He left us briefly to live with family in North Dakota, but returned to cover an editorial staff member’s maternity leave. Jeremy’s true journalistic nature quickly proved a valuable asset and was hired full-time. With a willingness to take on whatever tasks he was asked, Jeremy spent a year living in Tampa as our Tampa Bay staff writer and returned to Central Florida in 2016 to work under the guidance of Billy Manes. In 2017, Jeremy was named Central Florida Bureau Chief. His tenure with Watermark makes him uniquely qualified for this new role.
Jeremy has proven himself an ardent worker. His work ethic and passion for journalism shine in his writing. I am proud to call him my family and my friend, and I am more proud than ever to call him Watermark’s editor-in-chief.
