Neil Patrick Harris shared Sept. 15 on “Today” that he, husband and fellow actor David Burtka and their nine-year-old twins have all recovered from COVID-19.

The “How I Met Your Mother” and “Doogie Howser, M.D.” alum appeared on the talk show to promote his fantasy children’s book series “The Magic Misfits,” the  final installment of which is now available. Prior to discussing its release, Harris was asked about his family contracting and recovering from the coronavirus.

“We feel great,” he responded. “It happened very early – like late March, early April. We were doing our best before, and I thought I had the flu, and I didn’t want to be paranoid about it. And then I lost my sense of taste and smell, which was a big indicator, so we holed up and it was not pleasant but we got through it.

“We have antibodies,” he continued, “and are feeling good and want to make sure everyone’s doing their best to slow this down every way possible, for sure.”

Harris subsequently discussed “The Magic Misfits” and the reboot of “Doogie Howser” on Disney+. “I wish them nothing but the best,” he shared.
