Melissa Etheridge has released the second single from her highly anticipated upcoming album, “One Way Out.” The single, “For The Last Time,” as well as the first single that she released on May 25, “No Way Out,” are both part of a collection of music on the album written by the songwriter in the late ’80s and early ‘90s.

The singer didn’t feel comfortable releasing them then and/or never felt it was right for a particular project until now, according to a press release.

“Finally recording and releasing a song about my frustrations with my relationship in the ’90s is very cathartic for me. That ‘For The Last Time’ rocks so hard is just the icing on the cake,” Etheridge said.

Etheredge announced she will be releasing the music video for her latest single on her YouTube channel July 9 at 5:45 p.m. ET. The video to her first single is currently available to watch.

In 2013, the award-winning musician reunited with her original band members: Fritz Lewak, John Shanks, and Kevin McCormick to rewrite the songs she had created years prior for a retrospective box set and “give them new life.”

In 2020, Etheridge was going through old files to share with fans on Etheridge TV’s Friday Night Time Machine show. That is when she stumbled upon these old songs that she had reimagined but never released.

Etheridge’s new album, “One Way Out,” will be release Sept. 17. In support of her new album, Etheridge has confirmed a U.S. tour that will consist of new dates and rescheduled dates from 2020. For information on tour dates and more, visit MelissaEtheridge.com.
