ORLANDO | The Orange County Drug-Free Office will be at the University of Central Florida to discuss recovery on campus with their Higher Education Conference during National Recovery Month.
The event will be held Sept. 30 from 1-5 p.m. in-person at the International Reading Center and virtually via Zoom.
The keynote speaker is Nic Sheff, author of the New Your Times best-selling book “Tweak.” He will open up about his recovery from his methamphetamine addiction and the support he recieved through his relapse and recovery.
Dr. Andrew Finch, Associate Professor at Vanderbilt University, will also be in attendance discussing his research on collegiate and high school recovery.
The event will conclude with a panel discussion on current drug trends with members from the Drug Enforcement Administration and Behavior Health experts: Paul Maxwell, Harry Swain and Peter Ganpat.
Seating is limited, students are asked to register beforehand. Patron who are attending the conference in-person are asked to wear a mask regardless of vaccination status.
