Harry Styles plays a closeted gay policeman in 1950s Britain torn between his wife and male lover in the new trailer for the film “My Policeman.”

“‘My Policeman’ follows three young people – policeman Tom (Styles), teacher Marion (Emma Corrin), and museum curator Patrick (David Dawson) – as they embark on an emotional journey in 1950s Britain,” reads the film’s synopsis. “Flashing forward to the 1990s, Tom (Linus Roache), Marion (Gina McKee), and Patrick (Rupert Everett) are still reeling with longing and regret, but now they have one last chance to repair the damage of the past.”

The film is based on Bethan Roberts’ 2012 novel of the same name. A queer romantic drama that details the hardships of a love triangle that will leave all participating members shattered to pieces, as a simple policeman explores the meaning of love and freedom. Directed by Micheal Grandage, the film releases to theaters Oct. 21 and will have its streaming world premiere on Prime Video Nov. 4.
