PHOTOS: Quantum Leap Winery hosts event benefiting the James Beard Foundation

ORLANDO | Quantum Leap Winery hosted The James Beard Foundation for a benefit highlighting some of Central Florida’s top chefs Nov. 9. The Friends of the Vine: A Magical Evening is part of the Friends of James Beard Benefit national series that raises funds for the foundation’s culinary programs.

The event featured food samples from various local chefs paired perfectly with a vairety of wines.

Food stations were filled with delicious offerings from Shannea “Nikki” Akins, the chef and owner of Nikki’s Place; Stephen Gray and Mark Leggett, executive chef and owner, respectively, for Arthur’s Catering; Matt Hinckley, the chef and owner of Hinckley’s Fancy Meats; Lordfer “Lo” Lalicon, chef and owner of Kaya; Tonda Corrente, chef and owner of La Femme Du Fromage; Jamie McFadden, executive chef and founder of Cuisiniers Catered Cuisine & Events and Snowbirds Vintners & Sandy Ridge Vineyards; and George Miliotes, the master sommelier and owner of Wine Bar George.

Desserts followed by award-winning chef Trina Gregory, the chef and owner of Se7en Bites.

The James Beard Foundation is a nonprofit organization with a mission to celebrate, support and elevate the people behind America’s food culture and champion a standard of good food anchored in talent, equity and sustainability.
