OMG, guess who’s at YRS?
A group of young guys hanging outside of the new Ybor Resort and Spa were apparently keeping track of who was going in and out of the upscale “guest house.” The trio of fast-fingered texters weren’t breaking any laws, but seemed to enjoy sharing with friends which familiar faces were frequenting the new GaYbor establishment. Since there is no law against sharing information via text, the spa now has a new entrance that is a little less visible to those frequenting nearby establishments and visitors can now “relax” at the upscale establishment in peace.
Club Nautico sees cast exodus
There are some performers missing from Club Nautico—and apparently they needed a police escort to make their exit. According to a staffer at the Pinellas Park bar on 66th Street, police escorts assisted performers Iman and Coco Montrese as they removed their belongings from the dressing room of the Crown Theater late one August afternoon. The two performers were part of the show cast at the former Chiq bar for several months, but are now both performing at The Flamingo Resort in St. Petersburg. The show at Nautico, however, is still going on and director Alicia Markstone continues to take the stage each Saturday.
Sarasota non-profit for the T-community?
Rumor has it that a new non-profit organization is coming together in Sarasota that will focus on assisting the transgender community. Full details haven’t been released as of yet, but a source close to the club contacted Watermark to inquire about advertising in the future. Details will be released soon, we’re sure, and it’s believed that former Sarasota resident and Watermark cover boy Andy Citino, aka Six Pak, is involved in the planning.
Oar House expanding
Long-time St. Petersburg bar is expanding its facility to include an outdoor bar complete with barbecue pit, volleyball court and patio. The bar purchased the neighboring property, which used to belong to an auto-detailing business. Construction is already underway on the expansion and one employee tells us management is hoping the new bar will be open by the end of September.
