Tampa Softball teams plan fundraisers
The C-division Crocs and Riptide are planning fundraisers to assist their journey to the Gay Softball World Series Aug. 16-21 in Columbus Ohio. The Crocs will hold its fundraiser on Saturday, July 24, at Pinchasers Midtown in Tampa. Tickets are $10 and include shoe rental and bowling. The RipTide will hold two fundraisers—one on Friday, July 23 and on Friday, July 30—at CitySide in Tampa. Drink specials, Jello shots and raffles will help raise funds for that team’s trip to the August series. For details, visit SuncoastSoftball.org.

Gay Games Cologne releases iPhone App
The Gay Games VIII are July 31-Aug. 7 in Cologne, Germany. But if you can’t make it, don’t worry. Sports fans can keep up with the action via a new iPhone application available at the App-Store. The Gay Games Federation designed the app along with Apple’s help and recently announced the free download on its Web site. As of press time, there was no information about the app’s availability for the Android platform. For more information visit Games-Cologne.de/en

2014 Gay Games could see organizing shift
The 2014 Gay Games are scheduled for Cleveland, but rumors are swarming that the Cleveland Synergy Foundation, which won the right to host the games, has been removed from their role as organizers. As of press time, no confirmation was available on that rumor but both the CSF and the Federation of Gay Games issued statements of “No comment.”
