The Central Florida Softball League in Orlando and the Suncoast Softball League in Tampa launched their 2010 seasons recently, with opening ceremonies and a morning of games on Sunday, Aug. 29 and Sunday, Sept. 12, respectively.
Both leagues are affiliated with the North American Gay Amateur Athletic Alliance and will run the fall season through Nov. 14. League play could extend further into the fall, however, depending on rain cancellations.
Players have until the third week to complete registration. The fall leagues are seen as a recreational season since standings do not influence a team’s chances for attending the Gay Softball World Series. Those rankings are determined in the spring season. Next year’s World Series will be held in Chicago from Aug. 29-Sept. 3, 2011.
Details on both leagues—including schedules and standings—are available at CFSLeague.org and at SuncoastSoftball.org.
