It may not be an election year, but that doesn't mean candidate's aren't gearing up for the big 2012 election season. Hillsborough County Commissioner Kevin Beckner will seek re-election to District 6 next year and a large fundraiser is scheduled for Wednesday, June 23â┚¬â€Âjust days before St. Pete Pride.
Beckner, who is gay, earned his countywide seat in 2008 when he defeated incumbent Republican Brian Blair.
The fundraiser will be held at the home of Steve Wessels of Tampa and contribution levels range from $25 to $500. RSVPs are required for the event and can be made by calling 813-236-2096 or e-mailing Carrie@KevinBeckner.com.
