Have you driven by The GLBT Center headquarters lately?
A student group from Rollins College gave The Center a fresh coat of paint Aug. 24. They were fulfilling a community service requirement for incoming freshmen.
A message from The Center president Tim Vargas on the project:
“This year, the Board of Directors and Randy, have been highly focused on changing our image in the GLBT community through collaborative events like the Marriage Equality Rally, through new fundraising events like the Harvey Milk Breakfast, and through new social events like Bingo, our Cheese and Wine Pairing classes, and our new Art Shows. We felt like giving the building itself a fresh coat of paint (and a much nicer color) would be a fitting way to continue changing the way that The Center is perceived in the community, so the Rollins College community service project had a perfect goal!
We are extremely pleased with how we have been able to start getting the community to give the GLBT a new look, and certainly a new lease on life! There are many more positive things in the works and we believe strongly that when we finish this year, the community will be pleased and engaged with their new Center!”

Great job, Rollins!
