Grammy and Oscar winning singer-songwriter Melissa Etheridge will hold a virtual fundraiser Jan. 18 for Heather Mizeur, who is running to represent Maryland’s 1st Congressional District.

The fundraiser will take place at 8 p.m. with tickets starting at $50. Supporters who donate at least $250 will be able to speak with Etheridge and Mizeur in a private Zoom room. Those who donate at least $1,000 will get a chance to submit a song request for the event’s setlist or receive other merchandise from Etheridge.

Mizeur, a former member of the Maryland House of Delegates who lives on the Eastern Shore in with her wife, is running against anti-LGBTQ Republican Congressman Andy Harris. Mizeur ran for Maryland governor in 2014.

Mizeur noted Jan. 13 to the Washington Blade that her congressional campaign has raised more than $1 million.

“It’s going really, really great,” said Mizeur.
