The Secretary was previously exposed to the virus when one of his personal security detail tested positive. Buttigieg then quarantined for 14 days.
Buttigieg, who had made an appearance Sunday on the ABC News program “This Week” with George Stephanopoulos, has not had recent personal contact with President Biden his office relayed in an email.
According to the Secretary’s office, Buttigieg has been vaccinated and boosted, but he and husband Chasten Buttigieg have two infant children, both of whom are ineligible for COVID-19 vaccination due to their ages.
