TAMPA | Equality Florida‘s Tampa gala, originally scheduled for Sept. 30, has been postponed due to Hurricane Ian.

“We’re disappointed to announce the postponement of our record-breaking 2022 Tampa Gala due to Hurricane Ian,” Regional Development Officer Nicholas Machuca formally announced Sept. 27. “After much deliberation, our team has determined it is neither safe nor feasible to proceed with this event as currently planned.”

Organizers are currently working with Bryan Glazer Family JCC to schedule a new date for the fundraiser. Equality Florida will announce its new date once confirmed.

“Until then, please take care of yourselves, prepare for the worst and hope for the best,” Machuca noted. “The safety and wellbeing of our friends, family and community will always come first. We look forward to celebrating with you at a later date.”
