ST. PETERSBURG | St Pete Pride‘s annual Red and Green Party returned to Sunken Gardens Dec. 3 for a festive evening of fundraising and more.
The gathering supported not only St Pete Pride’s future events but Southwest Florida Pride and Naples Pride, two LGBTQ organizations which were impacted by Hurricane Ian. Under the twinkling lights and holiday décor, guests mingled, danced and participated in the silent auction surrounded by the garden’s more than 50,000 plants and flowers.
In addition to the extensive auction, St Pete Pride offered an array of drink and food options. The group’s opening remarks reflected on the days when a former St. Pete mayor would not sign the city’s Pride proclamations, reinforcing the need for St Pete Pride and other leaders to support the LGBTQ community.
This year’s celebrity host, Jai Rodriquez from the original “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy,” performed a spirited rendition of “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year” after welcoming the sold-out crowd and inviting guests to the afterparty at Cocktail. The crowd cheered as he made his entrance and told an amusing story about some previous time spent in the city.
Entertainment included fan favorite performer Kori Stevens, who had guests clapping and dancing in their best red and green attire under the stars. Additional entertainers included an acoustic rendition of “Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays” by *NSYNC from local advocate Lucas Wehle, a vogue performance with a holiday twist by the House of West and much more.
Watermark was on hand to help celebrate. View our photos below.
