ORLANDO | The Pride Chamber of Commerce, Central Florida’s LGBTQ+ and ally businesses and professionals organization, announced the nominees in its 2023 Pride in Business Awards, taking place Nov. 4 at the Hard Rock Live in Orlando.
The chamber made the announcement on its social media Oct. 25. A total of 21 businesses and individuals were named across six categories.
The nominees for Non Profit of the Year are Orlando Credit Union, Winter Park Pride and Orlando Youth Alliance.
For Corporate Ally of the Year, the nominees are Universal Orlando, Travel + Leisure, Edward Jones and Seacoast Bank.
Watermark Publishing Group received a nomination for Small Business of the Year. Other nominees in the category include S.K. Burt Law P.A., Bodystreet Winter Park and Paloma Technologies, LLC.
Businesses up for this year’s New Small Business of the Year are Beyond Home Real Estate, WAFU/Wafutaiyaki and FASTSIGNS Orlando Central.
The Pride Chamber will also recognize individual achievements with Outstanding DEI Leader of the Year — nominees are Mimi Flatley of Turner Construction Company, Dr. George Wallace from the LGBT+ Center Orlando, Maddie Boucher with The Walt Disney Company and Esu Ma’at from the Orlando Magic — and Business Leader of the Year — nominees are Jason Lambert from The Hammered Lamb, Ben Laube of Ben Laube Homes and Tom Christ & Billy Looper of the Kindred Pride Foundation.
Earlier this month, The Pride Chamber announced its guest speaker line-up for the event, which includes U.S. Congressman Maxwell Alejandro Frost, Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer, National LGBT Chamber of Commerce president Justin Nelson and newly appointed executive director of S.A.V.E. Todd Delmay, the latter of which will be the evening’s keynote speaker.
The Pride in Business Awards & Gala honors Central Florida’s LGBTQ+ and ally business owners, professionals and community leaders for community work over the past year.
