Legal Coffee Chat – What You Need to Know About Planning for Your Loved Ones in a LGBTQ+ Family

Family, whether biological or chosen, represent a major foundational pillar in most people’s lives. It is important to plan ahead for major life changes in order to protect those you care about and help ensure your wishes are met when those changes occur. Oftentimes people avoid having the important conversations about estate planning, medical directives, pre-nuptial agreements, and other important topics, because they can be uncomfortable. These are important topics that need to be addressed to protect your assets and ensure your loved ones are taken care of.  Major life changes can also include new beginnings like an adoption, wedding, or having a loved one move in with you and we want you to be prepared for these wonderful events.

Dealing with some of the issues we face can seem daunting, but the truth is we all face them and with the right strategies, they can actually be fairly painless.
