Orlando Fringe is back and has turned 30, so Watermark wants to celebrate with a big splash! Welcome to the fourth annual Watermark Splash Awards.
With all of the amazing LGBTQ talent at this year’s festival, we want to know what are readers think about the shows and talent – both on stage and behind the scenes – and which ones are the best of the best in LGBTQ-themed Fringe.
Here’s how it works: We want you to get out and see as many LGBTQ-themed Orlando Fringe shows as you can – see them all in fact – then come back here and write in which of those shows made the biggest splash for you in the following five categories: Favorite Show, Favorite Director, Favorite Writer, Favorite Lead Performer and Favorite Supporting Performer.
In all categories the nominees must be LGBTQ or LGBTQ-themed. Each of the performance categories are non-gender specific. Watermark has already put together a handy LGBTQ Orlando Fringe guide which you can re-visit here.
But just because a show doesn’t appear on our preview doesn’t mean it isn’t eligible. Nominees for favorite show must be LGBTQ-themed or be about a central LGBTQ character. For Favorite Director, Favorite Writer, Favorite Lead Performer and Favorite Supporting Performer the nominee must either be from an LGBTQ-themed show or must be an LGBTQ person. The winners are based solely on readers’ votes.
Voting is open until 3 p.m. May 28. Please vote once per email address. Duplicate ballots will be deleted. Awards will handed out May 31 during the 2021 Orlando Fringe Closing Ceremonies and Awards at the Fringe Outdoor Stage.
